The Clockmaker’s Child [2022]

We created a mask for our child character rather than VFX. Our cinematographer created a design and we 3D printed it, primed it and it was then ready for me to paint

 

We had three different masks with different emotions to switch out during shooting to personify the character

On the right is the sanded and primed mask. On the left is the initial paint job I did.

 I used dry and wet brushing techniques to create wear and depth to the mask on the high and low points. For the gold colour, I used Rub n Buff antique gold colour, and used that again to create highlights and more texture over the dark parts I had created.
