Mallory

We decided to go with the pinafore dress and ugly, patterned shirt as we felt this is what Mallory’s mother would have worn; tying in my era fashion research. The sizing is slightly too big for Mallory too, emphasising it’s not her own. Mallory’s colours are brown and yellow

Outside her flat, Mallory has a shawl to wear that fits her colour scheme. For a few scenes Mallory wears an apron, a tradition she picked up from her mother to keep her clothes clean. It’s gaudy and ugly too, and almost contrasts the browns of the rest of her outfit

Mallory has socks to wear in her house as well. She also has slippers/house shoes, another tradition from her mother; to keep floors and clothes clean, and to avoid damage to her feet. They are stereotypical older person slippers, alluding they could also be from Mallory’s mother. For outdoor shoes, Mallory will be wearing brogues

Olivia

Olivia has a much simpler outfit as we thought the fewer pieces the better when it comes to pregnancy and comfort. We decided to go with a simple t- shirt to better highlight her baby bump. Olivia, her colours are mostly blue, with a pop of pink.

Although not traditionally deemed comfortable, we decided to put Olivia in stretchy, ripped jeans to show that she is still considering her fashion and outfits when she dresses

Over the top, we are giving Olivia a wrap/tie cardigan. It looks comfortable and stylish at the same time.

The tie element helps with highlighting the baby bump as well, we can control how obvious it will look.

For shoes, Olivia will be wearing simple slip-on shoes purely for comfort and ease
